I hear this book is absolutely a must read........................ what are
you waiting for? See links and info below. I do remember Joe Franks from the
St Louis reunion in 2002. He personally walked Smeg and I around and explained
every display to us that was in their hospitality room. I remember his stories
and if he can write a book like he could tell a story in that hotel hospitality
suite............ then the book is what I'm ordering.

I read this in one sitting. Man, its like sitting
there listening to him spinning sea stories about his life from 1941-45. He
was on Guadalcanal, Bougainville, Guam and Iwo Jima. It tells no stories of
personal heroics but does talk about other guys we met in St. Louis. A lot
of humor and you find that we may all be of different generations but as
Marines we ALL did the same silly assed stuff. Thanks
